League play started in 1989 at Partridge Creek. After one year, it was moved to Rackham for two years, switched to Sycamore Hills for two years, and brought back to Rackham for two more years. The League is presently at Plum Brook and has been there since 1995. Currently, the league is using the same four men, eight team format that started in 1990. Our hope is the league gets to the 50th year mark. At that time, the league members will be the children and grandchildren of the original members!

The Mid-Summer Classic started in 1986 at Crystal Mountain where 8 guys were invited and played 45 holes a day. Initially, there was not a formal tournament. The first year of the tournament format started in 1990 and was six rounds. We changed to a four round tournament in 1992 and to a three round tournament in 2019. We have varied between 12 and 16 guys each year since 1990. In 2010 we moved to Boyne Highlands. THE TOURNAMENT ENDED IN 2023. Hopefully, we can keep going on golf trips playing day to day team events.
